Dance Grammar is not a dance style, but a way of learning dance for people who prefer to read instructions, rather than copying moves from a video.
It provides a grammar and vocabulary for you to communicate with your body, and also with the body of your dance partners.
Our first course, Dance Together, contains instructions for moving together with a partner in a led and followed, improvised dance which travels on a dance floor.
It can be useful for dances such as waltz, foxtrot, polka, samba and Argentine tango, though each of these styles may have different technical details.
Use these techniques to create your own dance style!

Like all new physical activity, check with your doctor before beginning a new exercise program.
We think the movement ideas in this website are safe and healthy. They are low impact, don’t require huge aerobic fitness, and can even improve your health and fitness, as well as mental and emotional wellbeing.
There are cautions where we consider there are potentials for injury, but include ideas to help protect you from them. Please follow our cautions.

This depends on many things:
How fit you are
How trained your body is
How much time you put into practicing
As a guide, we have taught the material in the Dance Together course in 90-minute group lessons over ten weeks. It can be quicker as it’s self-paced, but you do need to practice.
We are changing matter here, as well as mind, and it takes time.
